Altespea is a very small community in inland Western Australia. The area is typically devoid of all civilization, and the nearest settlement is several miles away. The town is frequently pestered by desert raiders, and not many people choose to live in it, let alone visit it. There hasn't been a population count in recent years due to its sheer insignificance, but at first glance, you can easily tell it can't number more than a few hundred.
